Mama We Made It!

After 3 flights, a taxi ride and a couple long and confusing layovers, we are pleased to announce that we have arrived in Chennai in the beautiful state of Tamil Nadu! We were welcomed by quite the entourage (Lincoln, Julianna and Thomas) who presented us with beautiful jasmine garlands (See below, they smelled really good too!)!

We spent the first day shopping, getting our first taste of Indian food, and getting to know our hosts. Overwhelmed by the hospitality and general friendliness. Here's a cute picture of us trying to emulate the Yoga sun salutation poses! Needless to say, we got nowhere near enlightenment.

We've been trying to fight the jetlag, but we're excited for tomorrow's cultural orientation at the CASA regional headquarters! After that, we're off on a night train adventure... and getting one step closer to our community!
