Mid Project Updates and a Half Goodbye

We've broken down our construction into stages: Excavation, Sand, PCC, Random Rubble, Cut Stone, Fill, Brick, Cement Slab. We're so excited to announce that we've completed up to Fill in all 6 future homes! Here are some cute pictures of the families who will be receiving them.

We also put up a theatre night event with the kids of the village. We put up a street play about the importance of continuing education, and how education can make a big difference in your future. Keeping in mind that most of the kids in the village stop school after 8th grade, or 10th grade- we also stressed the importance, that it's never too late to start. We've set pretty high expectations, and told them that 10 years later- when we come back, we hope to see a whole community of happy and successful people.

It's been barely over 2 weeks- and unfortunately, the two of us will be leaving later tonight to start our journey back to Austin. Dharapuram has been a second home to us- and we are so sad to be leaving it.
